Announced back in March, the unique Cloak Case for iPad has finally been released by Quirky — at $54 rather than the originally announced $36 asking price. Featuring a unique combination of a molded silicone rubber iPad case with a rubber-coated plastic front flap, Cloak looks sort of like a professional folder that opens to reveal several different stand options.
The iPad slides into the right side of the somewhat overly soft and dust-attracting case, which protects everything except for the iPad’s top, side, and bottom buttons, ports, and speakers when the flap is closed. By opening it and using one of three kickstand solutions, you can stand the iPad upright, on a video-friendly landscape recline, or in a keyboard-ready position.
Even though the execution falls short of “fantastic,” the concept here is solid, and the case has a lot of versatility for people who need multiple stand options. Four color schemes are available.
