RooCase’s GlacialTough ($60) for iPhone 6 Plus and VersaTough ($60) for iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus are nearly identical cases. Whereas VersaTough comes with a solid patterned back, GlacialTough has a transparent back to see the back of an iPhone. Otherwise, the cases are the same, made of a TPU bumper attached to an acrylic back.
A hard frame is inserted into the front of the case for screen protection. Button coverage is present for volume controls and the sleep/wake button, and the Lightning port is protected by a rubber plug.
Both GlacialTough and VersaTough are strong, solid cases. Unlike some similar cases, we didn’t have any issues with fit or installation.
Button coverage is responsive, and the case is protective without adding much bulk to an iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus. The screen protector causes no issues during use. We don’t really have a preference between the two cases — pick GlacialTough if you really want to show off the back of your iPhone.
We only received GlacialTough for iPhone 6 Plus, but based on the performance of the near-identical VersaTough for both iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, we’re betting the iPhone 6 version of GlacialTough is also a strong performer.
