Given its heritage of in-car accessories for iPods and iPhones, it’s no surprise to see Scosche release two new iPad-compatible car chargers: powerPlug ($18) is a relatively generic OEM-alike USB charger capable of putting out 2.1 Amps of power for the iPad, or less for lower-powered devices, while the latest version of reVive II ($40) has twin 2.1-Amp USB ports and the capability of charging two iPads at a time. The consumer challenge factor: Scosche now sells all sorts of “powerPlug” and “reVive II” chargers, so if you’re looking for these, you’ll need to hunt down powerPlug model USBC2M and reVive II version IUSBC4 — indicated only in tiny print on their boxes — because earlier versions are less powerful. While powerPlug ships without any sort of cables — you provide your own — the considerably larger reVive II includes one Dock Connector to USB cable, and allows you to supply your own.
