Made out of really nice leather, Sena’s Kutu (Smart Cover) ($70) and Ultraslim (Smart Cover) ($60) are costly but attractive sleeves for the iPad 2. As their names imply, each has enough room to fit the tablet even when adorned with Apple’s Smart Cover. Kutu has four reinforced edges, allowing it to maintain a rectangular opening.
It utilizes a pull-out ribbon on the back for device removal. We found that the iPad 2 fits with and without Smart Cover; it’s quite tight when it is on, though. Ultraslim is made of two soft leather halves sewn together.
At the bottom is a tab that can be pulled to remove the iPad, like Apple’s leather iPod cases. Once again, it was tough to get the lidded unit in the sleeve, but it did fit. Both cases are available in a variety of colors.
