Available in six colors and two “fits” — “naked” and “case” — Shek Designs’ iPad Wallport ($50) is essentially a single piece of aluminum that’s been shaped to hold an iPad in either portrait or landscape mode, then painted and bundled with wall and 100mm VESA mounting hardware. Each Wallport uses bent, inflexible arms to hold the iPad in a sturdy fixed position within its frame, using included felt pads for padding. Three of the colors are “crinkle” textures, two are glossy, and the last is brushed silver, and the company can apparently etch the frames with words and graphics as well. True to the company’s fit estimates, the “naked” version of Wallport accommodates iPads with 0-3mm of protection, and the “case” version accommodates 3-5mm device enclosures. The included wall mounting hardware comes from Monoprice and includes installation instructions; Shek also resells Monoprice VESA mounts ($45-$55) separately if you need them.
