Based upon the fabric-based same-named cases for iPhones, and apparently upon earlier versions we never saw for these devices, Speck’s new Fitted Cases for the iPod nano 4G and iPod touch 2G ($30 each) are conceptually the same but quite a bit different in execution. The iPod nano version is a clear hard plastic shell on the front — including screen protection, but not Click Wheel coverage — while its back, and both pieces of the iPod touch version are made from colored opaque plastic. No screen coverage is included with the touch case. Somewhat like the iPhone original, which used classy fabric, these versions have a leatherette on the back with a floral, heart and skull, or dot pattern; the edges of the leatherette aren’t perfectly cut to the plastic, but they’re close.
