First Look: Taylor Technologies Play Hello iShoes for iPhone 3G/3GS

Updated

Even if the execution’s less than ideal, we like the general idea behind Taylor Technologies’ Play Hello iShoes for iPhone 3G/3GS ($22), the latest case to try and meld the disparate worlds of Apple devices and shoes. Unlike the Converse-inspired canvas iPod cases of years past, the Play Hello iShoes are silicone rubber sleeves with open backs that you lace together with one of two included shoelaces; you pick from six case colors, each with one solid and one patterned lace. Taylor provides instructions on different ways you can lace the case up, and a rubber cord manager. It’s a cute concept, marred only by the case’s very limited protective characteristics — no screen protector is there, and substantial parts of the back are left open. Just launched in Korea, Play Hello iShoes are planned for release in Japan in the near future.
