Really sharp-looking but released just a touch late, TouCoul’s new CoulVue ($80) is a headrest mount for the original iPad, made from heavy-duty matte black plastic that feels sturdy from end to end.
CoulVue ships with a metal wrench to secure its rubber-padded mounting arm to the headrest of a car, and uses an arm with four separate articulating joints that can each bend on one axis, while the iPad holder rotates 360-degrees as needed.
While we’d prefer a solution with the ability to accommodate encased iPads rather than bare ones, and then, with rubber padding on the interior mounting edges to avoid scratching the iPad’s metal corners, CoulVue is otherwise a nicely implemented and substantially adjustable mount that will generally sit either immediately behind one of the front seats, or inbetween them.
