Four new cases from Uniq — three for iPhone 6 and one for iPhone 6 Plus — are less expensive than many Uniq cases we’ve seen in the past. Bodycon for iPhone 6 ($15) and iPhone 6 Plus ($18) is an extremely thin case that comes in a number of colors, some translucent. Helio ($15) is an artificial leather case with basic button coverage. LifePro ($13) is the cheapest option here, and the TPU case with a raised bumper looks to provide the best protection of the bunch.
Bodycon for both iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus can be directly compared to Switcheasy’s 0.35 case for iPhone 6.
As in the case of the similarly-priced 0.35, the even thinner Bodycon — just .3 mm thick — has no button coverage and offers very little drop protection.
Helio for iPhone 6 makes no bones about being an artificial leather case, and its low price reflects that. Unlike Bodycon, the volume controls and sleep/wake button are covered here. We think those buttons could be a bit more responsive, however.
The TPU LifePro for iPhone 6 is only $13, but it looks like the sturdiest in the group. With a clear back that shows off the phone, LifePro’s bumper is a bit larger to absorb drops.
Compared to the other Uniq cases here, LifePro also feels best in the hand.
Like Switcheasy’s 0.35 case, Bodycon doesn’t offer nearly enough protection for us to consider recommending. Helio is a good option at a good price — the button feel could have been improved, but it still earns our general recommendation. LifePro is the best of the lot. Though it offers no specific drop protection claims, it feels pretty sturdy, and the price is right.
