Apple has started sending notifications to users of the iPad and iPhone who are on older versions of iPadOS and iOS, warning them of web-based attacks that are active. The alert will show as a notification that is labeled ‘Critical Software’.
The company is aware of the attacks that are specifically targeting devices with outdated software and advises its users to install the significant update to keep their devices protected. Safe Browsing in Safari by Apple is enabled by default, blocking the dangerous URL domains that were found associated with the attacks.

The company has patched weaknesses that they have discovered in the past few months; users who have upgraded to the most recent version of iOS are protected from dangerous links and websites that are making the rounds. Those who are not able to update should think of toggling Lockdown Mode on if available to them.
