A 17-year old high school student has generated quite the buzz on Reddit when he uploaded a custom-built Bluetooth speaker in the shape of Apple’s AirPods.
AirPods shaped Bluetooth Speaker
The 10 inch tall speaker, dubbed ‘AirPod Max’ has been posted on the sub-Reddit section Mildly Interesting and has already received more than 2,000 comments and 78,000-plus upvotes. Aaron Beckman, the creator of the AirPod Max claims he used a 3D printer from his school’s robotics team to replicate an accurate model of the AirPods.
The Bluetooth speaker is modeled faithfully on the original AirPods, down to minute details such as the ‘L’ marking, grooves and buttons, which were created using paint and a window screen.
The AirPod Max has electronic innards and work just like a Bluetooth speaker, down to the inclusion of a charging port. Beckman shares in a Business Insider interview that he spent 22 hours all in all to complete the AirPod Max.
