Tueo Health, a startup reported to have been working towards an app that monitors asthma symptoms in children, has been acquired by Apple.
The figure involved in the deal is largely unknown, but Bronwyn Harris, Tueo co-founder and CEO, and COO Anura Patil have both updated their LinkedIn employer status to Apple in late 2018.
Tueo Health is just one of the many companies bought by Apple in an effort to boost its health care portfolio. Recently, we’ve been seeing Apple adding more health features across its products, namely the Apple Watch and its newer ECG technology and a revamped version of the Health app.
This type of practice is not unknown, as Apple tends to buy new companies every few weeks to add talent and intellectual property. Tueo Health joins two other acquisitions- sleep tracking company Beddit and electronic health care record firm Gliimpse under Apple’s health-related platform.
