Apple has renamed one of their Apple Music playlist, formerly titled ‘A-List Alternative’ to the new ALT CTRL. The song list is headlined by Summer Girl, HAIM’s newest single and other alternative bands.
The ALT CTRL playlist will feature a new artist per week, which starts with HAIM. Currently, artists such as Vampire Weekend, Lana Del Rey, Dominic Fike, The Black Keys, and Twenty One Pilots are included in the list.
Apple has started renaming their A-List playlists, with A-List Hip-Hop being renamed to Rap Life and A-List Dance becoming danceXL. Other A-List playlists, including K-Pop, Classical, R&B, Country, Pop, J-Pop, Russian Hip-Hop, Mandopop, Khaleeji, Telugu, African, Bollywood, and Christian have yet to be renamed.
Aside from the A-List rebrands, the ‘Essentials’ playlist gets Shot on iPhone covers, including those from artists Skrillex, IDLES, Tyler the Creator, Travis Scott, Lizzo, CHAI, Leon Bridges, Tierra Whack, and Kacey Musgraves. It displays the artist while on tour, and a few profiles have updated iconography.
