When Apple News launched in March it had some early struggles in publishing relations and user experience. Today, some publishers have stated concerns about the underwhelming revenue generated by the platform.
Several publishers said that the amount generated was less than what was promised, while others stated that it was equal to the revenue they received from Texture.

Since launch, the Apple News+ team have been meeting with the execs and admitted that the subscribers had trouble differentiating between paid news and free articles. The execs expressed concern that the magazine-style layout wasn’t conducive for news content.
The group is split between optimism and doubt. Other publishers feel that those at the helm aren’t fully committed, while others think the platform is still in infancy and some kinks will still have to be ironed out.
For now, Apple News+ subscribers can look forward to interface refinements and making the app more intuitive in the upcoming updates. We’ll just have to wait and see what happens next.
