Apple will be collaborating with A24 film studio to make a film adaptation of ‘The Sky is Everywhere’, a young adult novel by Jandy Nelson. Josephine Decker is set as the director, and the writing will be done by the book author.
The Sky is Everywhere is a 2010 novel that’s centered around Lennie Walker, a high schooler who’s coping with her older sister’s sudden death.
The partnership between A24 and Apple is the second venture, with the first being ‘On the Rocks’ directed by Sofia Coppola. A multi-year agreement between these two companies mean that the content mentioned here will be just the first of many more to come. A24 film studio is known for films ‘Eight Grade’, ‘Mid-90s’, ‘Midsommar’ and ‘The Lighthouse’.
Apple TV+ is slated to be launched November 1. It’s $4.99 per month with a free 7-day trial for those interested.
