Surgeons who conduct surgery with the Apple Vision Pro as the main display during a procedure for a tear duct have been shown to have finished the operation faster by 19% compared to using the traditional monitor.
A study uploaded in the Journal AJO International scouted 32 endoscopic surgeries that were to clear tear ducts that are blocked, with half the cases having the surgeons use the Vision Pro headset as the main display for the video feed in the endoscopic. The headset provides the feed directly into their vision allowing them to maintain a forward facing natural posture compared to having to look at a monitor found across the surgery room.
The average operative time was recorded at about 42 minutes with the monitor, and 34 minutes with the headset. Both groups did not encounter complications during the operation, with the 5 surgeons stating that they preferred using the headset compared to the traditional monitor.
