Multiple employees who were working on content for the Vision Pro, such as gaming and immersive video, have been laid off by Apple. The team that was focused on gaming is being released, and Apple is trimming the team in charge of immersive video. Groups in software and Siri are also being cut.
Apple told the people in the group that they are repositioning their goals depending on the use of the product, meaning that immersive video was not that big of a hit. These projects cost Apple a couple of million dollars to do and have not seen much success because not many individuals are using the Vision Pro.

Employees were notified that visionOS and the Vision Pro are not going to be shut down; the project for a budget-friendly, lighter version of a Vision Pro headset has been postponed as Apple is allocating its resources, prioritizing a pair of AI smart glasses that could release as early as next year.
