Apple has disabled the Walkie-Talkie feature on the Apple Watch when it discovered an exploit that allowed users to listen in on the microphone without consent.

The nature of the vulnerability hasn’t been disclosed, but Apple says that it would take a complex sequence to recreate the bug, which made it seem that it wouldn’t have been discovered by accident. As such, the Walkie-Talkie for Apple Watch has been disabled and non-functional until Apple takes care of it.
The Cupertino-based firm has significantly sped up their bug-hunting process in contrast to the Group FaceTime issue, which became viral in just a few weeks. The statement to the Walkie-Talkie Apple gave was that they had just been made aware, which signifies an improved security process.
As of the moment it’s not clear whether the bug is server-side or whether they need to release an update for the Apple Watch.
