We’ve seen how the health features in the newest Apple Watch has the power to save lives, but how did it get there in the first place?

Apple Bigwigs Reveal How The Apple Watch Became Health-centric

An interview with Apple’s executives, namely Kevin Lynch, Sumbul Desai and Jeff Williams became a rich source of insight on the evolution of the smartwatch. Williams mentioned that the device’s expansion had been organic in that they didn’t have it planned but quickly realized how big it could get once they went down the path.

Desai stated that health is just one of the many facets of the Apple Watch. Meanwhile, Lynch is excited about the future potential of the device and claims that all the technology the current model has, e.g., the monitor, ECG capability, heart rate and emergency services is only the beginning.

The team agrees that nothing in the health industry is off-limits, but the more important thing is considering where Apple could make a significant contribution.
