Apple’s newest Watch has been making rounds for almost a year now, and stories about its life-saving capabilities are being featured on news.

Case in point- the latest benefactor of the Apple Watch’s health capability is an Alabama woman who says that she wouldn’t be alive if it weren’t for the smartwatch.

Anne Rowe, resident of Fairhope, Alabama has been receiving notices about her irregular heartbeat via atrial fibrillation detection, but largely ignored it. But when the results became consistent, Rowe consulted her doctor and the findings showed that her heart was indeed having atrial defibrillation. A corrective open heart surgery later resolved the irregular heartbeat issue and lessened the chances of a stroke.

The Apple Watch Series 4 has a plethora of health monitoring features, including fall detection, emergency calling, and ECG detection, along with monitoring drops and spikes in heart rates outside exercise.
