Apple has complete access to customize Gemini for their model for the revamped Siri, along with other features. Google has given the company full and complete access to the data centers, and the Gemini model for creating minor models made for certain tasks.
Apple is able to ask the main model for Gemini to do a sequence of tasks that gives good results with reasoning. The answers that Apple gained from the Gemini model can be applied to smaller and cheaper models, meaning that they are able to learn the inside computations that Gemini uses to make efficient AI models without using as much computing power.
Apple will be depending on Gemini models provided by Google for the revamped version of Siri, a chatbot, and a smarter version of the AI is planned to be released in iOS 27. The team for Foundation Models is still developing models for Apple that are different from the models they are using.
