Bloomberg reports that Apple AirPods shipment is expected to reach 60 million units in 2019, largely due to the new demand brought about by the new AirPods Pro.

According to reports, Apple’s water-resistant and noise-cancelling headphones have exceeded expectations, and current demands have pushed Apple’s assembly partners and technical constraints to the limit.
After a renewed interest in the AirPods, Apple has released two hardware updates- the 2nd gen AirPods in March and the AirPods Pro, which was released just recently.
In the wearables department, AirPods and Apple Watch are the leading Apple products. Both are enjoying a surge in growth and popularity in the span of a few years, with the AirPods leading the true wireless industry.
Consumers are going with the Apple AirPods as the wireless earphone of choice. Competitors such as Google and Sony’s offering are in the market, but Microsoft’s latest product, the Surface Earbuds is still in production and won’t make an appearance until March.
