Apple has announced in a press release that they are responsible for the creation of 2.4 million jobs across the United States. Through the staff and suppliers, the Cupertino-based company also mentioned that they employ about 90,000 people directly and intend to bring it to 110,000 by 2023.
The numbers broken down come from the Apple staff, 9,000 supply companies that employ 450,000 people and the remainder are app developers that’s in the 1.9 million range. The figure improved from only 325,000 in 30 months, with Pennsylvania having 26,000, Florida gaining 30,000 and North Carolina adding 15,000 new app makers.
All in all, Apple claims that the number of jobs have been 4 times greater than what it was before in 2011. In 2018 Apple has spent $60 billion on suppliers and is on track to contribute $350 billion for the economy by 2023. Each year, it’s estimated that Apple is contributing $60 billion per year.
