Apple is said to be developing an AI assistant that will work as customer support within the Apple Support app.
Code found in the platform suggests that Apple will be introducing a ‘Support Assistant’ soon. Users will soon be able to get their queries resolved via chat. Currently, the app has a chat feature through Messages that goes to a live agent. It could be that users can report a problem and have the generative AI come up with several solutions. If that doesn’t resolve it, then the user could be forwarded to a live person. The code further shows that users can get an Apple adviser for the next interaction after they use Support Assistant.
Users may also be able to upload documents or images in relation to their support request. Apple said that they will be working with partners for the platform, which means ChatGPT and other LLMs might be involved.
