The D.C.-based Randle Highlands Elementary School was chosen because it’s one of the schools with the highest percentage of students that come from low-income families. Tim Cook, Apple CEO mentions that all children deserve a chance to build something that may change the world.

The donation was shown in the Ellen DeGeneres show and a part of a segment called ‘Greatest Night of Giveaways’. The program will continue for several more days in the NBC network. Michelle Obama, former first lady said she had fun making the children at the Randle Highlands school happy with the iPad donation.
