Apple is rumored to be trying out chips supplied by CXMT in China across its products. Acer and HP began using memory chips supplied by the Chinese based chip makers for products sold outside the United States.
Apple is already in early discussions with the company regarding component supply for the products sold in China; Apple is optimistic for the White House approval and sign-off. The only thing that’s been causing trouble is Chuck Schumer and a group of other senators asking Apple to rule out the possibility of using chips manufactured in China. The deadline to respond to this request will be on August 21.
In June, Apple raised the prices across its products due to the increased prices of memory from AI companies who want to build an AI infrastructure. Holding off the price increase has become unavoidable, and Apple joined the others who also increased their prices.
