Apple will be holding the Apple Music awards at the Steve Jobs Theater tomorrow, with awards fashioned from the company’s very own chip.
The award features an anodized, machined aluminum body with a custom, 12 inch processor wafer that can be seen through polished glass. These chips are the same ones that are in Apple’s iPads and iPhones, which Apple says are a ‘symbolic gesture’.
The event will start with a Billie Eilish performance. Her debut album, titled ‘When We Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?’ won Apple Music’s Most Played Award for 2019. Eilish will also receive the Album of the Year award for having one billion-plus streams on Apple’s platform.
Songwriter of the Year will be given to Billie and Finneas, her brother; the 2019 Song of the Year goes to Lil Nas X for ‘Old Town Road’, while Breakthrough Artist goes to Lizzo.
The event will be streamed globally on December 4 6:30pm PST.
