Apple today has partnered up with the US Veteran Affairs Department to make Health Records available for the iPhone. Veterans can now gain access to their own information via the Health app on the iOS.

Apple Chief Operating Officer Jeff Williams says that Apple’s way of showing gratitude to the veterans’ service is by giving them access to their health records and thus, empowering them to understand their health better. The Cupertino-based company has worked closely with VA in order to bring Health Records to the iOS platform, and hopes that it could give the US veterans peace of mind by making their health information available at all times.
The Health Record initiative was announced in February, but it’s only now that Apple was able to launch the largest medical system in the U.S. Health Record currently covers 9 million-plus veterans in more than 1,200 medical facilities.
