Micron is claiming that Apple buying memory from suppliers that are blacklisted will cause pushback against them and could affect the tech industry in the United States.
The Trump Administration has been petitioned by Apple to enable them to purchase RAM chips for Macs from blacklisted suppliers. Micron is under the impression that enabling these kinds of deals could affect the tech manufacturing industry in the United States negatively, similar to how China erased manufacturing and steel plants in the United States. Micron to fight against this has proposed a $250 billion investment in the United States to increase capacity.

The President of the United States is now faced with 2 paths he could take; he could help the manufacturing investment in the United States, or he could favor Apple for a short term fix regarding the issue of shortage of RAM.
