Apple has extended the duration of holding on its OLED panels in response to the increased component prices. The four-week buffer for the display has been extended to six weeks.
Apple in the past has treated its inventory as something to be minimized instead of being stocked up on, as they feature one of the leanest supply chains. Intentionally stocking up on panels for the long run is driven by the increased costs of memory.

LG Display and Samsung Display are still the main OLED suppliers for the iPhone; BOE provides a smaller share from China. The period for holding the panels is likely to stay for now and will remain and is expected to be extended even more after the release of the upcoming iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max in September this year, alongside the first foldable iPhone.
