The summer tour Up Next Live sessions ended with a performance by Khalid in Mount Vernon Square. The concerts are a collaborative effort between Today at Apple and Apple Music to showcase up-and-rising musicians via free concerts that began in July.
The Apple Carnegie Library was the venue of Khalid’s performance, with similar events that features Ashley McBryde, Daniel Caesar, Lewis Capaldi, King Princess, Omar Apollo and Bad Bunny in Chicago, London, Paris, Brooklyn, San Francisco and Milan, respectively. Each musician was carefully selected in the Up Next Program, which highlights talented artists through promotion and playlists.
The concert began with an introduction by DJ Ebro Darden, who announced that the session will be available on Apple Music in the form of a live EP. Khalid took the stage and sang for about an hour with singles from the artist’s Free Spirit World Tour, including a ‘Talk’ rendition which was featured in the Memoji ad.
