Apple has recently updated Waze and Google Maps with Siri. This means you can now use Siri commands to navigate on CarPlay and your iPhone. The Cupertino-based company demoed this functionality at the 2019 WWDC event with Waze being the app used.
Today’s updates open up the feature for both Waze and Google Maps. You can activate Siri by using voice commands for a true hands-free navigational experience.
Users can activate Siri on the app just like they would on iOS devices. For instance, you can say ‘Hey Siri, give me directions to the nearest pizza place using Waze’ and your device will open the corresponding app and give you directions automatically. The same thing happens when you ask for directions using Google Maps. Not saying a specific app will open the default iOS Apple Maps.
Navigational apps Waze and Google Maps are available to download at the App Store for free.
