Spotify has updated their Spotify Stations app to be able to support CarPlay, which means users can now control playback settings on your vehicle’s head unit instead of the iPhone.
Currently, the Spotify Stations for CarPlay sports a rather basic interface, i.e., it only has a list of stations you can choose from. Only time will tell whether CarPlay users can do more in the head unit as compared to managing the app on the iPhone.
Spotify Stations launched last month and offered users a radio-centric experience. Users were provided a list of stations that included their favorite artists, release radar, acoustic hits, and favorite songs. Its direct competition is Pandora, but with a key difference- instead of random songs, the app caters more to a personalized experience via the Spotify platform.
Spotify Stations is now available to download for free on the App Store if you’re in the U.S. or Australia region.
