Google is to shut down its social networking site “Google Plus” today after the project was a complete failure for the company. Google had notified its users via emails and the Google Plus website itself regarding the shutdown of Google Plus.
“On April 2nd, your Google+ account and any Google+ pages you created will be shut down and we will begin deleting content from consumer Google+ accounts,” stated by the company in an official statement on Google Help Center.
Google had stopped new account creation since February and is to start deleting its data starting today. That being said, it could take the company a couple of months to get the data completely deleted. Therefore, users may still be able to access some part of the Google Plus website after the 2nd of April.
