Google has recently added support for the HomePod ecosystem on its YouTube Music iOS app.

With support for HomePod to YouTube Music, users can now use the home speaker and open up more connectivity options. Apple announced the release of HomePod to third-party services in 2020, but it’s only now that Google has added support for the platform. It was announced in a Reddit post and is available to Music Premium and YouTube Premium subscribers all over the globe.

Subscribers can access it by updating YouTube Music to the latest version, and then going to Settings and Connected Apps. There will be an option to ‘Connect with HomePod’, and after setting it up users can have Siri play music on YouTube through their HomePods.

In addition, subscribers can choose to have YouTube Music as the default music platform via the Home app. YouTube Music is the latest platform to adopt HomePod, along with Deezer, Tidal, and Pandora.
