Hyper Light Drifter, a popular RPG that features stunning pixel art, is now available to buy on the iPad and iPhone. Game developer Abylight describes the game as a 2D action RPG similar to ‘A Link to the Past’. Drifter, the main protagonist uses long-forgotten technology to explore a world that’s full of mystery.
In the iOS port, Abylight claims that the game has been made ‘more portable and touchable’, with frame rates reaching up to 120 per second. The developers mentioned that one of the greatest challenges in porting Hyper Light Drifter was making it suitable for touch-screen gaming.
For purists, the game comes with MFi controller support, which should allow you to play with a PS4 or Xbox gamepad as soon as iPadOS 13 and iOS 13 comes out in September.
Hyper Light Drifter can be bought at the App Store for $4.99.
Currently, there’s no news on whether it will be ported on Apple TV.
