Fancy having Siri take control of your Spotify playlist? This feature may already be underway, as Spotify is now rolling out its beta version for the iOS 13.
In the beta, Siri may be used to play single songs or whole albums on iPhones running iOS 13 and later. The SiriKit framework has been opened to third party developers for their radio, audiobook and podcast apps for iPadOS and iOS 13. In a sense, Siri support is just waiting for those who want it, and it seems that Pandora and Spotify are among the first to try it out.
Earlier this year, Spotify filed an anti-competitive complaint versus Apple for not being given Siri integration but it seems that problem has been resolved.
To activate Siri on Spotify, you will need to say ‘on Spotify’ in the end when you want to play a playlist, an album or a song. Otherwise, Siri will direct you to Apple Music.
