A recently leaked “iPad mini 5” case confirms rumors that the much-awaited refresh this year will not bring a spectacular new design to the smallest tablet.

The leaked case also reveals that a LED camera flash, a smart connector, and four stereo speakers will be there on the new device. However is it true?

It’s been over three years since the iPad mini was renewed by Apple. The lack of attention led many Apple fans to believe that the device was set to be discontinued rather than refreshed. However, Apple is expected to bring the iPad mini back from the dead, just like MacBook Air.

An iPad mini of the fifth generation is anticipated to arrive this spring with advanced chips and internal improvements. Recent rumors have hinted, however, that we are not going to see any changes to its form factor.

iPad mini 5 will apparently be released this September

These claims appear to be confirmed by leaked images of a supposed iPad mini 5 case. They suggest that the upcoming iPad mini resembles its predecessors, with all buttons and ports at the same positions.

The only difference is a relocated rear-facing microphone. The case, if genuine, quashes suggestions that the new iPad mini will offer four speakers, a Smart Connector, and an LED camera flash.

A relocated rear-facing microphone is the only exception. The case, if true, quashes ideas that four speakers, a smart connector, and an LED camera flash will be offered by the new iPad mini. Apart from that, It looks like the new model will have the 3.5mm headphone jack.

Multiple sources including reputable analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, have informed us that the new iPad mini will not bring major changes in design.
