Apple’s plans to create a foldable iPad have been stopped momentarily, according to DigiTimes.
Rumors have circulated about a foldable device that’s the size of a notebook. It’s been referred to as a ‘foldable iPad’ or an ‘all-display MacBook’ several times online. DigiTimes said that the Cupertino-based company has paused development due to low consumer demand, increased expenses of foldable display components, and manufacturing difficulties. Apple might consider resuming when display technology becomes more affordable and if demand for these products rises.

According to reports, the foldable notebook or iPad will have a crease-free hinge, OLED display, and measure around 18.8 to 20.2 inches. Some say that Apple will launch the product anywhere between 2026 through 2028. Apple has not made any announcements yet, and it seems that the focus is on the foldable iPhone. The foldable iPhone might debut with the iPhone 18 Pro lineup in 2026.
