Apple has released a new release candidate specifically for the iPhone 15 lineup.
iOS 17.1 Candidate Release edition was published today and replaces the one launched on October 10. It has a build number 21B77 and replaces the previous build 21B74. It’s worth noting that this candidate release version is only for the iPhone 15, although no explanation or details have been given. The last release candidate reportedly fixed burn-in screen issues, and it’s possible that Apple has released a fix within the software to deal with the problem.
Beta testers and developers can download the latest candidate release through the Apple Developer Center or via the iPhone that has the previous version. In the Settings app, users can check the build and version number and update as necessary.
Apple recommends not installing release candidates for primary or daily driver devices as it could result in loss of data.
