The upcoming iPhone Pro is rumored to have cost about 40% compared to the previous model due to the increased prices in memory. The bill of materials for the iPhone 18 Pro with 256GB is about over 38% of the iPhone 17 Pro, meaning that the device could be priced higher.
TrendForce is predicting that Apple will be taking the same approach they have done with MacBook releases in recent times, surrendering a part of their gross margin for the increase to remain profitable and protect the shipment volumes for customers.

In June, Apple raised its prices on devices such as the Vision Pro, iPad, Mac, HomePod, and Apple TV as tanking the increased prices of memory components has become unavoidable. The foldable iPhone is expected to be released alongside the iPhone 18 Pro Max and Pro in September this year, with the base iPhone 18 releasing early next.
