Dell has recently launched a new line of monitors, with one of them having Mac compatibility. The UltraSharp 40 Curved WUHD Monitor sports a 5120 by 2160 resolution, or equivalent to a 32-inch 4K screen with 33% more viewing space.
The Dell UltraSharp 40 is billed for those who want plenty of virtual real estate without having to get a second display or sacrifice resolution. It’s one of the only ultrawide offering with true 4K resolution instead of the usual 2560 by 1440 resolution, sometimes referred to as ‘QHD’.
The 5K2K monitor has a special Thunderbolt 3 port built right in, which allows Mac users single-cable connectivity. It can provide 90w of power to a MacBook Pro via pass-through charging. Other I/O connectivity options include a 10 gbps USB A port, a 15w USB C port, an audio jack, Ethernet port, USB Type B upstream port, three USB A ports, a DisplayPort 1.4 and 2 HDMI 2.0 ports.
The UltraSharp 40 will have a price tag of $2,099.99 and become available January 28, 2021.
