Apple has cut the red ribbon on its second Apple Store in Taiwan. Apple’s store, named Xinyi A13 is the company’s latest attempt to break through the Asian market, competing against established manufacturers Xiaomi and Huawei on localized functionality and price.

The store will offer Apple Store staples such as Today at Apple and other one-off events to empower users.

The much-anticipated opening drew thousands of Apple product enthusiasts who stayed overnight just to see what the new store would offer. According to Taiwanese media, the line stretched as far as the Le Meridien Hotel before the store was opened to the public.

Inside, Xinyi A13 is relaxed and laid-back, featuring fountains and trees that are refreshingly in contrast with the bustling Xinyi district. Apple employees gave out white shirts with embroidered Apple Taipei logos to commemorate the event, and booklets to show what kind of products people can expect in a few months’ time.
