65Mhz of licenses for wireless spectrum were acquired for $19.6 billion by SpaceX from EchoStar last year, enabling SpaceX to branch out the Starlink satellite direct-to-cell service. They will be releasing the next-generation satellites next year, with the upgrade to be 100 times better.
T-Mobile and SpaceX have an established partnership where T-Mobile will be powering the satellite feature for direct-to-cell connectivity via satellite.
