Social media giant Twitter has decided to permanently suspend the Twitter account of President Donald Trump following a riot at the Capital.
Twitter admin posted on their blog on the reason why they deemed the action necessary. In the post @Twitter Safety, they mentioned that the @realDonaldTrump account had recent tweets that violate Twitter Rules, and that suspending the account was necessary to stop further incitement of violence.
Twitter further stipulated that the horrific events in Washington DC has resulted from the content within the @realDonaldTrump account. They explained how the public interest framework allows world leaders and elected officials to address the public directly.
Twitter also states how the accounts are not above the company’s rules, which include using the platform to incite violence. The social media continues to be transparent regarding enforcement of policies and rules.
On January 8 President Donald Trump tweeted that he will not be attending the official inauguration on January 20, which could be seen as a non-acceptance of election results.
