    watchOS 5.3 features and updates

Notable features and updates include a fix for the Walkie-Talkie vulnerability, notifications for irregular heart rhythms and the Series 4 ECG app being made available for Singapore and Canada users and the restoration of the Walkie Talkie app. Apple has delivered on its promise to introduce the ECG feature to Canada as fast as possible.

During beta testing there was no mention of new features, but release notes state that a major bug was fixed in the Walkie-Talkie app, where hackers could use it to spy on other people. Incidentally, the ECG function in Canada came in a few months after it was approved by Health Canada.

Apple Watch users can download the update for free via the Apple Watch app in their iPhones. Apple recommends having the watch at least on 50% battery or higher and within range of the user’s iPhone when updating their devices.
