For someone who doesn’t wash or wax his car a lot, I was pleased to find Renue, an app that works like Uber, except it’s for car detailing. Let’s take a look at the app, how it works, and the experience.
Renue App – First Impressions
The app can be downloaded on both app store platforms, which is a win for me. It’s fairly lightweight and doesn’t take up too much storage. After a few seconds, I get a notification that Renue is ready to open.
The interface is clean and takes me only a few seconds to get accustomed to. Creating an account is a snap, and adding my car is the same. Browsing through available services, there’s virtually everything a car owner needs. I didn’t need a detailing right away, so I waited a few days to try.
Car Detailing Experience
The detailers you hire on the app are vetted by the company (there’s an ‘apply to join’ button on the website). The exact details of this are unknown, but it will be tested when I get someone to clean my car.
Also worth noting is that Renue is not available in the whole of the US. You can click on ‘request Renue in their city,’ fill out a short form, then wait.
After a quick service selection, the detailer arrives. The price is set and has not changed from the app, which speaks volumes about their ‘transparent pricing’ feature. While waiting, I did some chores and some light work. The quality is great, as it’s done by a professional. Also got some tips on how I could lengthen the showroom quality and minimize dirt and grime from accumulating in my car.
